I qualify for the settlement, but already paid for the repair. How do I get reimbursed?
Answer: Notice of the proposed settlement was mailed to potential class members whose identities were known to GM in or around July and August 2008. Owners and lessees of covered vehicles who paid for repairs to the speedometer before receiving that notice are eligible for reimbursement under the following terms:
If the speedometer failed and your vehicle had less than 70,000 miles on it, upon proper proof of claim GM will reimburse you for the cost of repairs (parts and labor) up to the limit of what a GM dealership would have charged.
If the speedometer failed and your vehicle had more than 70,000 miles but less than 80,000 miles on it, upon proper proof of claim GM will reimburse you for the cost of the part only (no labor).
